Located in the Luberon Valley, between Cavaillon and Apt, neighbor of Gordes, Lacoste and Roussillon in the Luberon Regional Natural Park, the peaceful perched village of Goult hides under the hackberry trees. Its beautiful streets are adorned with vaulted passages, arcades, a washhouse fountain, old facades and doors, and the remains of the old ramparts. Its large shaded squares remind us of the sweetness of life in Provence.

 

The so-called 'hidden village of the Luberon', Goult presents pretty stone and ocher houses built in the Provençal tradition often adorned with beautiful gardens filled with olive trees, laurels and all other Mediterranean species. Often you will be able to see ivy or a climbing rose hanging from a trellis or a facade, which give the buildings a poetic charm.

These inhabitants are divided between the old village, its surroundings and its many charming hamlets. The two most important hamlets are Lumières and Saint Véran, then the hamlets of “Les Maquignons” and “les Vaynes”.

 

Hidden but lively village with its shops open all year round, including the Maurel grocery store, the oldest grocery store in France. The village has all the shops necessary for daily life. In addition to the grocery store, there is a bakery, the best real estate agency in the Luberon "Your Provence", a butcher, a cheese shop, a hairdresser, a tobacconist/press and a pharmacy (in Lumières) but also several restaurants as illustrated by “Café de la Poste”, “le Goultois”, “la Terrasse”, “le Carillon” or even “la Bartavelle”. All different tables delight all Goultois, but not only.

 

Finding holiday accommodation is no problem. You only have to choose between the many Bed & Breakfast properties such as 'la Canove' or 'Villa Lumières’ or many holiday rentals houses. If you are traveling by motorhome, a Camping-Car Park is available opposite the hamlet of Lumières.

 

The summer period is often animated by various events and festivals. In Goult, there is the village main festival every year around June, the honey festival in July, the melon festival in August, and several evenings organized at the village hall throughout the year.
